Madonna ‘alarmed and distressed’ after stalker broke into home

London: Madonna was left ‘alarmed and distressed’ after a schizophrenic Polish stalker barged into her house in March this year, a court heard.

Grezgorz Matlok, 30, who was under the impression that he was involved in an intimate relationship with the singer and had exchanged ‘special messages’ with her, was arrested on March 12 after the 53-year-old pop star’s bodyguards caught hold of him. “I do not know the defendant, have never had any relationship with the defendant. I have never had any contact with the defendant, either by phone or by email, or any other way,” the Telegraph quoted Madonna as telling in a statement read out by prosecutor Philip Stott. “I have never given him permission to enter the premises or any of my other premises.” “I feel alarmed and distressed by the actions of the defendant. It’s extremely unsettling to know that despite the extensive security I have he has been able to break in to two residential properties owned by me,” she added. Following the incident, the singer is quite apprehensive about the safety of her children. “I am worried about the safety of my children, all of which are under 18. I am also worried about the safety of my staff and naturally I am also worried about my own safety.” During the hearing, the court heard how Matlok initially escaped detection by hiding in the cupboard to avoid a security guard, but was later spotted by Madonna``s close friend, film director Nathan Rissman, 39, who was renting the adjoining home. He initially denied one count of burglary but changed his plea to guilty after he was found with a can of Red Bull from the star’s home. Matlok has been detained indefinitely after doctors found he posed a ‘serious risk’ to the singer.
