MJ’s medical records at UCLA ‘improperly accessed`

Michael Jackson’s medical records were accessed improperly at the UCLA medical center, as source has revealed.

Los Angeles: Michael Jackson’s medical records were accessed improperly at the UCLA medical center, as source has revealed.
The King of Pop’s legal team came to know about this after his death that the records had been accessed in an unauthorised manner at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. State regulators imposed a 95,000-dollar fine on the hospital charging it of privacy violations, all related to the same patient’s records, reports Los Angeles Times. The breaches began on June 30 last year, five days after Jackson’s death. “There wasn’t anything they saw that was worth selling. We have systems in place that put up barriers. You’re not authorized to look at certain things. You can only go so far,” UCLA spokeswoman Dale Tate said. “Medical privacy is a fundamental right. Every Californian treated at a hospital should not have to worry about who is viewing their medical information,” Kathleen Billingsley, deputy director of the department’s Center for Health Care Quality.
