NAC theatre season includes Dickens

NAC unveiled its English-language theatre`s 40th anniversary playbill.

Toronto, April 15: The National Arts Centre in Ottawa unveiled its English-language theatre`s 40th anniversary playbill. Hinton has assembled an ensemble of 14 actors and four apprentices to work on two different productions: ‘Bertolt Brecht`s Mother Courage’ and ‘Her Children’, with Tanja Jacobs as the titular war profiteer, and Charles Dickens`s A Christmas Carol, with Stephen Ouimette as Scrooge. Hinton will also direct Shakespeare`s ‘The Comedy of Errors’ in co-production with Montreal`s Centaur Theatre.
Also on the 2009-2010 season are The Vancouver Playhouse`s Canadian production of The Drowsy Chaperone and Joanna McClelland Glass`s new drama, Mrs. Dexter and Her Daily. The NAC`s studio space will see productions of Kevin Loring`s Where the Blood Mixes; Night, a collective creation about the effects of winter darkness; and Elephant Wake, a one-man show about the last member of a francophone town in Saskatchewan Bureau Report
