China to hold first global beer fest

Beijing: This Chinese capital will hold its first International Beer Festival next month, an official statement said Sunday.

The festival would be held July 16-August 15, Xinhua reported citing the foreign affairs office of the Beijing municipal government. The event would be spread over 400,000 square metres and will accommodate 150,000 visitors, who would be able to dine and drink in eight beer tents. Authentic German beer and roast meat will be offered during the event, the statement said. IANS
