Mumbai: After almost two years of break from acting, actress Preity Zinta will be back on the silver screen with her maiden home production `Ishkq in Paris`.
The actress revealed that even though she is very excited about her new project, she had lost inspiration for movies three years back.
After creating a storm at the box office with her films like `Koi Mil Gaya`, `Kal Ho Na Ho`, `Veer Zaara`, `Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna` and others, Preity changed her gear and became an owner of IPL team Kings XI Punjab. She was last seen in Deepa Mehta`s `Heaven on Earth`, a 2008 Canadian film. The film was dubbed in Hindi as `Videsh`.
"I had lost the inspiration for movies three years back. Now, I feel re-inspired, because I have got that ray...and I did what I had to do. I went through ups and down. I am really excited," Preity said in an interview.
"There will be some other films I will be working in besides my home production. I will be doing other films. I want to put my best foot forward. There is certain expectation that comes with my name, so I want to make sure that I do it," she said.
Now, she is back into the tinsel town, albeit as a producer. In 2011 Preity launched her own production company, PZNZ Media.
The first film produced under the banner is titled `Ishkq in Paris`, a romantic comedy directed by Prem Soni. She will also be acting in the film.
"When I did my first film, I never thought I want to be a number one heroine...all that time, I was thinking can I get my lines correct. I did not know acting...how films were made ...did not understand the medium. And then I worked on it.
When opportunity of cricket came, I was like I don`t mind doing it," the dimpled actress said.
Success and failures are part of life and just the way you claim success you must claim your failures also, she said.
Since she was not doing any films, Preity has decided to get back in shape.
"When I thought of getting back into movies all my excitement went for a toss as I had gained nine kgs of weight. I couldn`t believe it. I did exercise and ate less. Then I started training and lost all of it because I can`t afford to look like that in a film," Preity said.
