Hong Kong: A strike involving 1,000 workers erupted at a plant linked to Foxconn Technology Group on Saturday, a rights group claims.

A rights group based in Hong Kong called Students and Scholars Against Corporate Misbehaviour (SACOM) stated that a Foxconn factory in Fengcheng, Jiangxi province went on strike. While the Taiwanese tech giant denies ownership of the plant sources in SACOM said that the workers mainly expressed their anger over their unfair treatment.

Meanwhile, Foxconn, one of the world's biggest contract electronics makers, has confirmed that it is being investigated by Chinese authorities following allegations that at least one executive accepted bribes.

The comments followed a report by Taiwan's Next Magazine, which claimed a Foxconn manager was detained in the southern city of Shenzhen, because he sought bribes from suppliers.

Foxconn said it was co-operating with the probe and was reviewing processes.
