London: Girls may be going gaga over `Twilight` heartthrob Robert Pattinson`s elegant style in the film but the actor seems to have a devil-may-care attitude regarding his looks off screen.
Edward Cullen would never dream of stepping out of the house in a scruffy ensemble. But then Pattinson has always been at pains to point out that he is very different to the suave, forever-17-year-old vampire that he plays in the Twilight films, Daily Mail on reported.
The heartthrob, who regularly tries to avoid the limelight, looked more like one of the grizzly werewolves which are rivals to his vampire clan in his latest movie, `New Moon`, the report said.
Pattinson, 23, was spotted leaving his home in Barnes, south-west London with his elder sister Lizzy. He has been home for the festive period after a busy year shooting in Canada and the US for films including Twilight films `New Moon` and `Eclipse`, and `Remember Me`, which is due out in April.
His beard could well be an attempt at a ruse for the paparazzi and fans. The actor has been adding to his security team due to increased attention from fans.
"People ask me to bite them and want to touch my hair. I just don`t want someone to have a needle and give me HIV and I don`t want to get shot or stabbed. This is my life,"
Pattinson said.
