At an age, when others lose the charm to live, the lady is achieving new milestones. And now she has expressed a new wish, which has surprised her fans – she wants to sing for Kajol’s daughter Nysa as well. Talking to a news daily, the singer said, “Kajol gives me a lot of love and respect. I’ve sung some of my best songs for her aunt Nutan and mother Tanuja.” “And I also sang for Kajol in ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.’ Maybe I’ll sing for Kajol’s daughter as well,” she added. The 81-year-old singing legend gave the Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Puraskar to Kajol this year on April 24. “Among contemporary actresses, Kajol has always been my favourite. We wanted to honour her with the award in my father’s memory because she is so spirited, natural and no-nonsense. Quite like what I used to be when I was young,” she said. Didi, as Lata Mangeshkar is fondly called, is gearing up for Maharashtra Divas in Mumbai, where she is all set to sing ‘Bahu asota sundara sampan ki mahaan’. She also related that the song had moved Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to tears when she sang it on the occasion of Maharashtra Divas in Mumbai years ago. Kudos!
