Winslet admits she was five minutes from death during Branson house fire

Winslet revealed that they were lucky to have woken up when they did, because had they not they would have perished in the fire at Branson’s Caribbean home.

London: Kate Winslet, who bravely rescued Sir Richard Branson’s mother Eve from the fire that burnt his house down, has revealed that had they waited another five minutes it would have now been another story altogether.
Winslet, 35, revealed that they were lucky to have woken up when they did, because had they not they would have perished in the fire at Branson’s Caribbean home. “We’re so lucky that we woke up when we did, that we got out of the property when we did, because another five minutes and it could be a different story,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying. The ‘Titanic’ star also said that she was “proud” of the way her 10-year-old daughter Mia and son Joe, seven, reacted to the fire, particularly Mia, who Winslet reports picked up a fire extinguisher in an attempt to help out. “They were really amazing,” she added.
