Dubai: A giant flat 3D painting, drawn over an area of 1,700 metre square on the terrace of the eighth floor of a 41-storey hotel in Dubai, was inaugurated.
Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of higher education and scientific research, released the mural painted by Lebanese artist Souheil Madi at the Gloria Hotel. Madi said his mural, titled "Caravan of Women", was one of the largest in the world, and that he was trying for the Guinness Records. "I drew the painting on the roof of the eighth floor in Gloria Hotel, which consists of 41 floors. It is a giant flat 3D painting that lies on a space of approximately 1,700 metre square. Finishing this painting took nearly 100 hours of work," Madi said. He said the painting represents the women on camel caravans that pass through the Arabian desert. The painting honours the mother, wife, daughter and sister. IANS
