New Delhi: Considering the maturity of
Finland`s nanotechnology industry, India is now looking ahead
to collaborate with that country and harness its technology to
carry out research and development work in different fields
including health care.

"Finland`s nanotechnology industry has matured a lot.
We have knowledge and with help from them we too can grow in
the field of nanotechnology in areas like science and
technology, health care and clean technology," Director
General of Indian Council of Medical Research M V Katoch said
addressing the Nanotechnology Conclave 2010.
"We will put together researchers from both the
countries and work jointly on developing new technology in
various fields," he said at the conclave organised jointly by
Confederation of Indian Industry and Nanotechnology Cluster
Programme of OSKE, Finland.

"Nanotechnology has potentials in addressing the
problem of water contamination and can help in best use of
energy resources. At present work is being done to understand
that nano components do not have a negative impact," Thermax
limited CEO R R Sonde said addressing the gathering.

Tehri Hakala, ambassador of Finland said, "I can see a
lot of future in the Indian market. This country has highly
technology-efficient people and we have high technology
knowhow. So both the countries can work together in various
sectors."
