Mumbai: It was quite a sight, when Ranbir Kapoor touched ex girlfriend Deepika Padukone’s feet at the Screen Awards. The impromptu act not only left Deepika shocked, but the entire audience surprised.
The former couple was on stage along with filmmaker Subhash Ghai when Ranbir decided to touch Dips feet. Ghai and Deepika were on stage to present the Best Actor award to RK jr.
Now, the decision to call Deepika on stage to present the award was perhaps to make the entire segment interesting. But, we are sure not even the organizers were expecting Ranbir to do this on stage.
When Ranbir went up on stage to receive his award, he bent down to touch Ghai’s feet to seek blessings from him. Then suddenly, Ranbir in the same flow touched Deepika’s feet as well. Dips obviously burst out laughing and took the entire thing sportingly. She then hugged him and handed him the trophy.
Later on, Deepika won an award too (in the popular section) and her award was handed over by Prateik, Sharman Joshi and Mugdha Godse.
Ranbir and Deepika patched up last year after their high profile split in 2010. Right after their break up, Deepika had said that how Ranbir had cheated on her with actress Katrina Kaif. However, Deepika had later denied taking Ranbir’s name. The couple in 2011 patched up after they signed Ayan Mukherjee’s next together. In fact they claim, they are best of friends now.
So on Saturday night, when Ranbir touched Deepika’s feet, was it out of repentance? Was he seeking forgiveness from his ex? Or was it just a friendly jab? Only Ranbir can answer that!
