Karisma Kapoor to essay Hema Malini’s role in ‘Satte Pe Satta’ re-make

Mumbai: Once considered the cynosure of all eyes in Bollywood, Karisma Kapoor is set to return in Bollywood after a long time. Post her matrimony, talented Karisma wasn’t keen enough to continue with acting, but latest sources confirm that filmmaker Soham Shah has convinced her to play the female lead in the much anticipated re-make of ‘Satte of Satta’. Karisma Kapoor will essay the role of Hema Malini in the film. Soham reportedly pursued actresses like Vidya Balan and Aishwarya Rai to play the part, but after actor Sanjay Dutt suggested Karisma’s name, the director had a change of heart. It is also believed that Sanju, the producer and the lead actor of the project asked Karisma Kapoor to step in as the heroine. Karisma is reading the script and is very much interested in doing the film, revealed sources. The source added, "Sanjay wants a very Indian looking girl. After Aishwarya refused to work in the film despite Dutt trying hard to convince her, Dutt had approached his ‘Lagey Raho Munnabhai’ costar Vidya Balan. She too had declined the offer.” The source further added, “A few days before he spoke to Vidya, Dutt had spoken to Karisma who at the time had clearly told him that she was not interested in making a comeback." But after having known that Karisma has signed Vkram Bhatt’s ‘Dangerous Ishq’, Sanju realized that she is now serious about her comeback. We wish all luck to Karisma’s for her 2nd innings!
