Mumbai: It probably was the face off of the month. Actors and ex lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came face to face with each other at the special screening of ‘Delhi Belly’ recently in Mumbai.
Ranbir, who was personally invited by Imran Khan, came to watch the film with director Karan Johar. Infact Imran had invited host of stars for the screening of the film including Deepika Padukone.
The Kapoor lad had infact messaged Imran about the ‘DK Bose’ song and how he was looking forward to watching the film. Now we all know how there has been a cold war of sorts between the two for some time but Imran still decided to invited Ranbir over for the special screening.
Speaking to a daily, a source said, "Imran was previously in Delhi for the film`s promotion. So he told Ranbir that he`d invite him for a show as soon as he returned to Mumbai. And since he returned late Tuesday, he decided to have a screening on Wednesday and invited Ranbir, Karan Johar, Rohan Sippy and some other folk."
Interestingly, Imran also invited friend Deepika Padukone for the same show. Deepika came in with dad Prakash Padukone and sister Anisha
So when Ranbir walked in, he was surprised to see that Dippy there with father, Prakash Padukone and sister Anisha.
"But Ranbir was very graceful and he spoke very warmly with her," added the source. “Deepika had flown down from London where she was shooting for Homi Adajania`s Cocktail with Saif Ali Khan. She had told Imran that she wanted to see the film. She had got a couple of days off, so she came."
Eyewitness says that Ranbir was also surprised by the reaction of the audience. When the screening began, Ranbir started observing how others were reacting to the onscreen proceedings.
"Maybe he didn`t expect people to enjoy the film so much," said the source, adding that when the lights came on at the end of the film, Ranbir`s expression was one of shock and awe.
"So much so that some people present were even sniggering among themselves that suddenly, Ranbir wasn`t able to handle the competition," stated the source.
Looks like Ranbir was in for two surprises that night.
