Mumbai: Actress Lara Dutta, who gave birth to daughter Saira earlier this year, says motherhood has become her parameter for choosing any new project.
"I think for me, motherhood has definitely and completely become the biggest parameter, the biggest measuring scale for the things I want further in life," the 34-year-old said here Thursday at an event of the Columbia Alumni association.
"When it comes to films, be extremely selective about how much time now I want to spend out of the house and, therefore, a script better be really very good before I just try to put my name to it," she added.
However, despite this, motherhood is not impeding her career and Lara, who is married to tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi, says it is not possible for her to become a stay-at-home mom.
"I don`t think that I am the kind of woman who can stay at home and be known just as Saira`s mom or just as Mahesh`s wife. I genuinely think that there is lot more that I want to do," Lara said.
Lara turned producer with "Chalo Dilli" in 2011. She wants to produce more such films.
"I do want to produce more films. I think we were extremely lucky to get the first script of our film `Chalo Dilli` and I was very happy with the fact that it had more content in it than post normal Hindi films. I am going to take a little bit of credit for that. I still want to produce films that are high on content," she said.
