`Khiladi` to hit silver screen on Diwali next year

Mumbai: Its good news for all those die-hard fans of the `Khiladi` series. Bollywood’s `Khiladi` Kumar aka Akshay Kumar is all set to make a comeback next year as the invincible `Khiladi`. The actor who owns the patent of `Khiladi` is planning to launch his next film in the league titled `Khiladi 786-Made in Punjab`. The film is scheduled to release next Diwali and will be produced in collaboration with music composer Himesh Reshammiya. Directed by Ashish Mohan, the film will be an action comedy. Talking to a tabloid, a source said, “The film will be an action comedy. Akshay Kumar has already decided to release it next Diwali. Akshay will play the titled role and Himesh will be essaying the character of a Gujarati guy named Mansukh. Paresh Rawal will play Himesh’s father Champak Lal in the film. The female leads have not been finalised yet.” “The filmmakers are trying to rope in Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra for two pivotal roles in the project. The talks are on. Interestingly, the story of Khiladi 786 is the brainchild of none other than Himesh Reshammiya. He will also be composing the music for the project,” added the source. When contacted by media, Himesh Reshammiya said, “It’s too early to talk about the project.”
