Mumbai: Troubles don’t seem to be ending for Saif Ali Khan. The actor who has been in news for all wrong reasons of late, is said to be at loggerheads with his friend and business partner Dinesh Vijan, who is now threatening the very existence of his production house - Illuminati Films (a joint production house owned by Saif and Dinesh Vijan).
If sources are to be believed, the rift between the two friends might now delay ‘Agent Vinod’ by another year.
Their second production, ‘Agent Vinod’, has become a bone of contention between the once best buddies. As per sources, the shooting of much-awaited Saif starrer was to start in January 2010 earlier, but the film is nowhere on the mark as of now.
Confirming the news, a source said, “Though ‘Love Aaj Kal’ was one of the top three hits last year, it still didn`t make a profit for distributor Eros, as it was sold at a very high price. The recession-hit Illuminati Films` next production ‘Agent Vinod’ (starring Saif and Kareena Kapoor) has also run into rough weather because Eros has decided to cut down the budget by almost half. The film, which as to be shot in seven cities across the world, will now be shot in just one."
Stressed out by the cost-cutting methods, Saif is reportedly feeling let down by his partner who he states is not pulling his weight. Feeling let down, the actor had a confrontation with Dinesh. "Saif is not one to suffer in silence, he had a word with Dinesh recently, and it led to a huge showdown, following which Saif told Dinesh that they should part ways. Though Dinesh owns the title of Illuminati Films, Saif wanted to retain it as he feels emotionally connected to it and Bebo also had gifted them the silver emblem of two lions, which became their logo. Dinesh doesn`t want to pushed out of the company. He`s crying foul as he has already taken 1 crore from his financiers," adds the source.
