Mumbai: Bollywood biggie Aamir Khan, who literally put his reputation at stake by producing a film like `Delhi Belly` is finding it hard to get a U/A certificate for its TV premiere. The actor-producer was happy to get ‘A’ certificate for the big screen but despite chopping off 16-17 shots that had explicit content, couldn’t manage to get a go ahead from the Censor Board. Talking to a daily, a source from the board said, “The censor board had given `Delhi Belly` an A certification for its silver screen release. That time, Aamir had thanked the board for their decision to keep the content of the film relatively intact. However, the guidelines for TV are far more stringent.” “The last time the film was scrutinized by the board, they were of the opinion that it was not appropriate for family viewing and made roughly 17 to 18 cuts. They had asked the filmmakers to make further changes to the film," the source added. In order to convince the board members, Aamir visited them in person and screen the film again. "He had requested for a U/A certificate, which is required to screen a film on TV, but returned disappointed as it was rejected by the censor board," the source said. However, a source close to Aamir’s production house said, “On our end, we want to do as much as possible to ensure that the final version of the film suits the censor board guidelines as well as pleases the viewers. We intend to make whatever changes the censor board has asked us to make.” `Delhi Belly` starred Aamir’s nephew Imran Khan and was a huge hit among the youth. The song `Bhaag DK Bose` turned out to be one of the top chartbusters of the year. The film came in as a surprise for all as the industry could never expect Aamir to come up with an out and out adult film.
