LAMHAA SYNOPSIS

Kashmir. What was once known as the paradise on earth is turning into the biggest playground of Devils. The forces, the militia and everyone in between are involved. Vikram a retired Para commando, India’s best sniper, is sent into the Valley to eliminate the man controlling this Mayhem- Pasha. Little does Vikram know that what would be an in and out operation will change his life and that of the Kashmiri forever.

Pasha’s OGN (On ground Network) is extremely strong. Every one seems to be an informant. From the local kebab Walla, to the telephone retailer to even a colonel of the Indian Army. To crack this he unites with Aziza, a girl who works for Haji’s organization and fighting for the freedom of Kashmir, when they are seemingly by chance thrown together into crossfire between militants and the army. The intensity of their beliefs and their will to survive all odds creates a special bond between them. Soon they find themselves embarking together on a journey full of intrigue, suspicion and bloody betrayal to the northern parts of Kashmir. In such a scenario are the bullet and the bomb the only answers that the people can provide? Will wisdom prevail in this valley of flowers, so that the common Kashmiris are not crucified in the crossfire of politics? Will they survive to find the heaven on earth they are looking for? Hope is what is the basis of the existence of Kashmir. CHARCHTER SKETCH VIKRAM (SANJAY DUTT) He is a decorated officer from the Para commando division of the army and has worked in counter insurgency operations in the north east as well as Kashmir. He is smarter than the system and always a step ahead. He is a man with no friends and relatives. Vikram trusts no one but himself. His religion is his nation and his aim in life is to ensure the security of his country. AZIZA (BIPASHA BASU) Trained from a young age in the arts of gathering intelligence and defending herself with hand-to-hand combat or use of weaponry. Aziza still remembers that night when her father was killed as if it happened yesterday although it has been seventeen long years. Aziza is working with Haji and fighting for the freedom of Kashmir. She hates India and Pakistan with equal measure. The real reason for what she does though is her passion for her motherland Kashmir and its people. In the field, she is veiled tigress. Dressed in her Burqa and PT shoes she operates ruthlessly and without emotion to finish the job at hand. She can speak and write Kashmiri, English, Hindi, Urdu, Pushto, and she can be a killer when the circumstances ask for it. AATIF (KUNAL KAPOOR) A young man in his twenties, misled by his leader, finds his way and stays true to his beliefs. He makes a stand to enter politics in order to save Kashmir from the hands of people wanting to destroy it. His feelings for Aziza and their bond from childhood helps grow their support for each other. HAJI (ANUPAM KHER) Born in 1933, Haji Sayeed Shah started his career as a school teacher and was a prominent activist of the Jamaat-e-Islami. He was elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly thrice in 1972, 1977 and 1987. He resigned in 1987 and joined the secessionist movement. Haji has been a strong supporter of the Kashmiri militancy and believes that violence has given the much-needed leverage to the political movement and has made India take their `cause` seriously.
