Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor is an actor with an acute acumen for business. The dashing hunk, who has been making news for his erotic lip lock with co-star Genelia in his upcoming film ‘Chance Pe Dance’, has edited the passionate scene in his attempt to get a wider audience for the flick.
A sure sigh of relief for the Censor Board, who can now sit back and allow the film to be released without any last minute editing.
Taking up the role of moral policing, the actor shocked the filmmakers when he vehemently demanded the editing of the erotic scene. As per reports it was Shahid’s concern for his child audience that got him to take the high road. Shahid felt that the scene would be inappropriate for children and therefore demanded that it should be taken out of the film.
Confirming the news, a source said, “Yes, there was a kissing scene in the film along with a love-making scene. However Shahid thought that it wouldn’t be good for his image with the kids. He also felt it would put off people from coming to the cinema hall with their kids, and he did not want that to happen. So he spoke to Ken Ghosh (the director) and insisted the scene be removed from the film. Though Ken wasn’t very keen about the idea since the shot had taken a lot of effort, he finally understood Shahid’s point of view — even Ken loved the idea of the film not having an A certificate. The scene has been removed.”
Talking about the film, Ken said, “My film is for teenagers, for children and for families. It’s a wholesome entertainer with humour, emotional moments and lots of fun. It’s got great music and fantastic dancing — and it’s got a U certificate. Need I say more?”
