Ratan Tata: The steel man of India

Ratan Tata is a trained pilot. He flew the advanced F/A-18 Super Hornet at Aero India 2011 in Bangalore.
Ratan Tata was the man who dreamt about Nano, the cheapest car in the world.
Tata retired from all executive responsibility in the Tata group in December 2012 is succeeded by Cyrus Mistry, the 44-year-old son of Pallonji Mistry and MD of Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
Ratan Tata has always maintained a very controversy-free personal life.
Ratan Tata also led the development of Indica, the country's first indigenously developed car.
Ratan Tata has served in various capacities in organisations in India and abroad. He is a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry.
Tata has received the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008 and Lifetime Achievement Award awarded by prestigious Rockefeller Foundation in 2012.
Under his leadership Tata motors acquired Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Tea acquired Tetley, and Tata Steel acquired Corus.
Tata began his career in the Tata group in 1962. Initially worked on the shop floor of Tata Steel, shovelling limestone and handling the blast furnace.
Ratan Naval Tata was born in 28 December 1937 and became the chairman of the Tata Group in 1991.
