Helsinki: Finnish handset maker Nokia will begin shipping its new high-end Lumia series smartphones this week.
The Lumia smartphones, running on Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 software, touted to be the company's hopes for recovery, will appear in a few European markets this week onwards.
Nokia’s Lumia 820 and 920 phones will reach first operators and retail outlets in France and Britain this week and will be rolled out in Russia and Germany later.
In the United States, AT&T will start selling the devices in early November. Verizon Wireless will begin selling Lumia 822 and T-Mobile will offer Lumia 810, Nokia said.
