Bajaj Auto scrip hits record high as Dec sales up 13% Mumbai: Bajaj Auto scrip on Wednesday climbed over 3 percent to hit a record high after the company reported 13.14 percent rise in motorcycle sales in December 2012.

Buoyed by the healthy sales number, shares of the country's second largest two wheeler maker gained 3.6 per cent to touch a record high of Rs 2,214 on the BSE during the day. It finally ended at Rs 2,202.60, up 3.07 percent.

The scrip was top performer among the 30-share Sensex.

On NSE, the stock settled at Rs 2,209.90, up 3.66 percent from its previous close.

Bajaj Auto today reported 13.14 percent rise in motorcycle sales at 2,98,350 units in December 2012.

The company had sold 2,63,699 units in the corresponding month previous year, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) said in a statement.

BAL said exports increased by 5.27 percent during the month at 1,26,016 units compared to 1,19,708 units in December 2011, it added.

In the broader market, the Sensex rose 133.43 points, or 0.68 percent, today.
