'Britain open to business collaborations with India'

'Britain open to business collaborations with India' Chennai: Britain Thursday said it is 'open' to business collaborations with India, saying such arrangements are mutually beneficial.

"India is a great place to do business and this is not just about opportunities of doing business but also learning," UK's Public Health Minister Anna Soubry said here.

India achieving independence and UK's health care are two 'great things' that had happened after the end of World War II and both nations are proud of their respective achievements, she said.

Leading a health sector mission from the UK, which has travelled to various Indian cities in the last few days, Soubry said Britain was looking forward to have business with India.

"We want a new relationship as equal partners...We are open for business and this includes great universities and colleges," she said at an interaction organised by CII and UK Trade and Investment.

The Minister, who expressed admiration for India's 'ambitious' universal healthcare system, expressed confidence that British medical companies would strike business collaborations with Indian firms holding it would benefit both countries.
