New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL)'s capability to handle emergency situations and ensure minimal disruption in passenger services at the airport has received an ISO certification from British Standards Institution.
"The Delhi airport has become the first airport in the world to receive ISO 22301:2012 certification from British Standards Institution (BSI) after meeting the guidelines and assessment set out by the International Organisation of Standardisation (ISO)," a statement from DIAL said.
Highlighting the significance of the certifications, DIAL CEO I P Rao said initiatives like these "makes us better equipped to handle incidents such as power disruption and check in-system failure".
"Passengers travelling from Delhi airport can now set aside their travel worries every time they travel through Delhi airport. DIAL felt that it was imperative to assess the preparedness of Delhi Airport in handling emergency situations during temporary disruption of critical processes due to unforeseen circumstances," Rao said.
