New Delhi: Bank jobs are in demand in the country and here is a proof – 1.7 million (17 lakh) Indians have applied for the 1,500 probationary officer posts that are vacant with the State Bank of India.
Earlier in January, the bank had put up an advertisement for application in the rank of probationary officer for 1,500 vacant posts.
However, reports on Monday claimed that the bank has received 17 lakh applications for the said vacancies.
State Bank of India, the country’s leading bank offers a maximum salary of about Rs 69,000 a month in Mumbai and about Rs 50,000 in other places.
Reports quoting SBI sources that this was the highest application the bank has ever received.
