Washington: Twitter's vice president for product, Michael Sippey has reportedly announced his plans to quit the company and assume an advisory role on product strategy.
Sippey had been instrumental in Twitter's acquisition of video app Vine apart from the company's majority of consumer product and design initiatives.
According to Cnet, Sippey said that he talked to CEO Dick Costolo and COO Ali Rowghani about what he wanted next in his career and what Twitter needed at this stage of time, adding that he decided that it was time for him to move on.
Sippey later posted a tweet saying he was transitioning into an advisory role at Twitter and it had been an amazing couple of years at the microblogging service.
In response to Sippey's tweet, Rowghani wrote praising the now-ex product head and thanked him for his contributions to the company.
