Mena Suvari ties knot in Vatican

London: American actress Mena Suvari has tied the knot with her boyfriend of three years Simone in Sestito in Italy.Mena, 31, who was married to the 18-years-older cinematographer Robert Brinkmann from 2000 to 2006, this time chose someone closer to her in age. Concert producer Sestito is 25. The pair, who got engaged in 2008, chose a private chapel within the Vatican City for their wedding ceremony Saturday as most of the groom`s family live around Rome.

"The ceremony was truly unique and Mena looked breathtaking. They are very much in love," a guest told people.com. Mena went to great lengths to keep her new husbands family happy. She revealed to OK! magazine in an interview last year how she planned to have her wedding dress customised to cover her tattoos. "I think it would be considerate to (Sestito`s) family to have my tattoos covered, since there are two nuns on his mother`s side of the family," she said. Her tattoos include, among others, a lion on her neck and upper back. Mena, star of the American Pie movies, and Simone met at the Toronto film festival in 2007. Ironically, Mena`s next movie is a comedy entitled "You May Not Kiss The Bride", about a photographer who is forced into marrying a woman he doesn`t know who then gets kidnapped. IANS
