Mumbai: Just we thought Priyanka Chopra had dodged the limelight for a while after completing Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi!’, word has it that the former Miss World is back again in action.
The fresh buzz is that the talented actress has bagged the role of the female lead in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Gunday’ starring Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film was earlier offered to Katrina Kaif. But following PeeCee’s performance in ‘Barfi!’, the makers of ‘Gunday’ decided to take her on board.
A source close to the production house said to a daily, “The lead female role is rather challenging and performance based. And the makers thought that Priyanka would fit the bill better.”
However, PeeCee’s PR refuted the news and said, “It’s not true”.
The film will see Ranveer and Arjun play mafias of the 1970s and is all set to go on floors in February next year.
