N-E Delhites can get property registered on the same day
New Delhi: People in North-East Delhi will now be able to get their properties registered on the same day of filing of application under an online registration system.
The new online registration was launched on Wednesday at newly renovated sub registrar office in Vivek Vihar. It is the third such sub-registrar office to have online registration facility.
The ambitious project was launched by the Delhi government last year to contain irregularities in sub- registrar offices, plug revenue leakages, ensure transparency and most importantly to offer people seamless services.
The online registration system will soon be made available at remaining sub-registrar offices across the city.
The system will be highly secured as proper audit trail and cross verification of transaction would be ensured. Officials said the online system will ensure transparency and eliminate the role of middlemen in the registration process.
Under the new system, people will even be able to pay registration fees online and get appointments with senior officials of sub-registrar office for verification of documents.
The sub-registrar office in Vivek Vihar has been renovated to offer visitors a sleek and comfortable ambiance. The remaining nine sub-registrar offices are also being renovated to provide people various amenities including tea, coffee and snacks.
All the sub-registrar offices will have adequate number of computers to help people get various information.
As part of the reform initiative, the government last year had launched electronic-stamping facility to completely do away with stamp paper of all denominations. Earlier, e-stamping was applicable to values of Rs 501 and above.
