Zeebiz BureauNew Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the country’s largest utility vehicle maker, will start pre-bookings by 8 June of its highly coveted sports utility vehicle, the XUV 500.
Regarded as one of the best-selling SUV’s in the Indian market, M&M has sold out at least 9 months of its production capacity of the XUV 500 in only two rounds of bookings.
Owing to increase in demand of the XUV 500, the auto major has upped the ante by increasing capacity to 4,000 vehicles per months, double of what it started with back in 2011.
In the successive run up to the second round of bookings, the XUV 500 was made available to 19 cities across India, receiving an overwhelming 25,000 plus booking application from earnest customers.
Through the XUV 500 draw, M&M’s lucky dip for its top seller, 7200 wining applicants were selected based on their booking request.
