Re crashes to nearly 5-mnth low at 55.11 against dollar
The rupee Monday fell to its nearly five-month low level of 55.11 by losing 23 paise on sustained dollar demand from oil importers and concerns over possible rating downgrade by S&P.
Rupee falls below 55 level against dollar; down by 12 paise
The rupee opened weak at 55.06 per dollar as against the previous closing level of 54.88 at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market.
Rupee down 11 paise at 54.88 on dollar demand
Registering its biggest fall in a week, the rupee on Friday weakened by 11 paise to close at 54.88 against US dollar on good demand of the American currency from importers on speculation that Federal Reserve may slow its stimulus programme, leading to capital inflows drying up here.
