New Delhi: The Delhi cabinet on Friday approved further expansion of Delhi Metro. It will be the fourth phase of expansion bringing additional 103 kilometre of route in the NCR metro network, adding around 8.5 lakh new passengers everyday.

Know how the expansion of Delhi Metro is going to make rides more convenient:

The fourth phase of Delhi Metro expansion is set to add six new routes with a total length of around 103 km.

The entire expansion will take six years to complete at the cost of around Rs 50,000 crore

The Phase-IV expansion will add 79 stations to the metro network out of which 50 will be elevated.

The six new lines which connect outer Delhi and Aero City include Rithala-Bawana-Narela, Janakpuri West-R K Ashram, Mukundpur-Maujpur, Inderlok-Indraprastha, Lajpat Nagar-Saket G-block and Aero City-Tughlakabad.

The six new routes will be :

The 21.73 km Rithala-Bawana-Narela line having 6 stations

The 12.54 km long Mukundpur-Maujpur metro line with six metro stations.

The 28.92 km Janakpuri West-R K Ashram metro stretch with 25 stations on the line.

The 12.58 km long Inderlok-Indraprastha metro line will have 10 stations.

The 20.20-km-long Aero City-Tughlakabad line will have 15 metro stations

The 7.96 km Lajpat Nagar-Saket G-block metro stretch will 7 stations.
