Former BCCI boss Anurag Thakur slams Indian board for compromising Virat Kohli's integrity, criticises 'arrogant' Aussies

New Delhi: After Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, former president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) defended Virat Kohli even as Aussie camp continue to their attack on the India captain.

Thakur criticised Aussie media for their recent behaviour over comparing Kohli with US President Donald Trump. He, on Thursday, took to social media site Twitter to express his shock over the issue.

After the Ranchi Test, Kohli claim that few Aussie players had passed comments to disrespect Patrick Farhat, physio of the Indian cricket team.

An article on the very next day on Daily Telegraph read, "Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport. Just like President Trump, Kohli decided to blame the media as a means of trying to hide the egg smeared right across his face."

Anurag was left astonished over the fact that the Indian board didn't standby the team's captain nor the players.

His tweet read as, "What sort of 'truce' ws this? @BCCI compromised the integrity of their #TeamIndia Capt @imVkohli & didn't stand by their players & team."

BCCI defended Kohli during the DRS controversy, but quiet this time, when the Aussies including Cricket Australia attacked the skipper.

It's worth noting that the boards shook hands to resolve the DRS issue.

Anurag Thakur tweeted, "Its the fault of @BCCI & complete arrogance of @CricketAus who've alwys tried to dictate terms in cricket and target players."

Bachchan, who had tweeted in favour of the Indian skipper, had said, "Aussi media calls Virat, Donald Trump of sports !! ... thank you Aussi media for accepting that he is a winner and the PRESIDENT !"
