Mohammed Shami will starting with the new ball for Delhi Daredevils. Martin Guptill and Hashim Amla are there at the crease already. Big challenge for the bowlers now as they head in to defend a mere total of just 67.

And after a few anxious dot balls, here comes a four. Third delivery, short, straight and Guptill bullets it over cover for a boundary. Ohh...what a start! And then again off the last ball. Similar delivery as Guptill gives himself room to smack it down point for another boundary.

Third ball, short and flat to the off as Samson fires it timely down cover for the first boundary of the game. And finally another wicket. Woah! Punjab are on a charge. It is Samson this time. Heading into a crucial encounter for either sides, Delhi today starts off under standy-by skipper Karun Nair. Well, Zaheer Khan, pulled out after a hamstring injury in the last match.

Indian Premier League 2017 season's struggling sides, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils go head to head in desperate search of a victory in today's showdown at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

With just two wins from seven games, Delhi are languishing at the bottom of the league table while Punjab have three wins from eight outings to be placed at sixth. (IPL 2017 - Schedule | Points Table)

Both Punjab and Delhi come into this match having been comprehensively beaten in their previous games against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

KXIP have lost five of their eight games so far but top-order batsman Shaun Marsh revealed that he feels the team can still pull itself back into the title race of the ongoing Indian Premier League.

The 33-year-old Australian's solid knock of 84 against Sunrisers Hyderabad here yesterday went in vain as KXIP lost by 26 runs while chasing a target of 208.

The inconsistent Punjab, who are yet to win the IPL trophy, were let down by their bowling and batting units and only Marsh's performance stood out.

The Zaheer Khan-led side, which boasts of a world class pace battery comprising the likes of the skipper himself, along with Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris, Corey Anderson will be hoping to produce a better show after failing to contain the onslaught from the KKR duo of Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa on Friday.
