New Delhi: The Gujarat Lions opener Brendon McCullum was in a murderous mood yesterday during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens.
He scored 33 off 17 balls, which included five fours and a six. And the first of those fours almost took the head off umpire Nitin Menon. McCullum drilled the ball down the ground with such ferocity that the umpire was forced to duck. Menon was sure in the firing line.
Here's the video:
It happened off the third ball of the Lions innings, bowled by Shakib Al Hasan.
Chasing a 188-run target, the visitors needed a good start, and it was provided by McCullum and Aaron Finch. The pair scored 42 runs 20 balls, before Finch's departure.
The visitors also won the match by four wickets.
