New Delhi: Delhi Daredevils' youngsters Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson orchestrated the team's elusive chase after opponents Gujarat Lions had posted 208 on Thursday's Indian Premier League encounter.

While Pant smashed his way to a brilliant 97, Samson scored a fluent 61 to guide the Daredevils to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Gujarat Lions and keep the hosts afloat for a play-off berth in the ongoing tournament.

Both inningns were filled with boundaries, as Pant scored 6 fours and 9 sixes, Samson smashed all of his boundaries for maximum results, bagging 7 sixes and zero fours.

While there were many gigantic sixes, two of them really stood apart – one each from Rishabh and Sanju.

Electing to field, Daredevils bowlers leaked runs as Gujarat rode on skipper Suresh Raina (77) and Dinesh Karthik's (65) half-centuries to post 208 for seven.

Later, Pant and Samson showed their batting class to enable Daredevils' overwhelm the target with consummate ease, reaching 214 for three with 15 balls to spare.

By virtue of this win, Rahul Dravid's boys have managed to stay in the play-off race garnering eight points from 10 games to hold on to the sixth position in the standings with four matches still to play.
