Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar acknowledges lucky fan's hand-written letter

New Delhi: What would happen if one fine morning you would wake up to find a message from your favourite star – could be from a sports personality, or an actor? A decade ago, such lovely dreams were fulfilled, well, to a lucky handful. But with the advent of social media, dreams have been turning to reality.

A certain Karan Gandhi got an unanticipated respond to his letter from the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar on April 17.

Among 6.1 billion followers on his Instagram account, it was lucky Karan to get a "thank you" from the Little Master himself. He surely must have done something unusual, but what?

Well, Karan had send a picture of his hand written letter to Sachin on his Instagram account.

Through his letter, he innitially introduced himself as a person of Indian origin who currently resides in the United States. He went on to add, how immensely he enjoyed watching the master at his game and that he actually missed quite a lot of his tution classes to watch his matches.

“Dear Sachin, my name is Karan, I currently live in the US but am originally from India. I grew up seeing you play cricket. I missed countless tuition classes to watch you play day and night ODIs in India. I have always meant to write to you and express how honored I am to be your fan and time and again be inspired by your sportsmanship and work ethic on the field,” Karan wrote.

But then Karan did understand that this letter would be one among the loads of fan letters, but still expected a reply from the 35-year-old.

“Sachin, I know you have a busy life now, but I would love to receive a letter from you. I collect hand signed letters from people I admire and I’d love to get one from you. I’d really cherish that letter,” he added.

And what followed is an absolute piece of delight for Karan. Something probably he never would have even imagined about. It was a reply from Tendulkar saying, "“Thank you for the letter, Karan Gandhi! I’m sure your childhood tuition teacher mustn’t have been too happy when ODI matches were on."
