New Delhi: Biopics on the lives of cricketers has been the latest trend in Indian cinema. 'Azhar' on the life of Mohammed Azharuddin and 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' on the life of present Indian limited overs skipper MS Dhoni were the most recent releases, with 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' presently being worked on.
Now, Sharmila Tagore, wife of ex-Indian cricket team captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi reveals that she would want a biopic to be made on the life of her late husband with Ranbir Kapoor playing the lead role.
As quoted India Today, Sharmila said,
"I really don't know. Somebody who looks like Tiger. May be Ranbir Kapoor or somebody in the family."
When asked who she would like to play her role on the screen, Saif Ali Khan's mother said, "That's a real challenge. What about Alia Bhatt?"
Sharmila futher added, "If somebody directs it properly and does proper research, his life was full of interesting things - about the accident, losing his father, playing cricket with such a handicap, it's quite interesting."
Late Mansoor Ali Khan, who represented India in 46 Tests, is often described as one of India's greatest cricket captain. He was handed the role of leading the team at the age of 21, despite the squad featuring many other much experienced players.
