Sachin Tendulkar salutes martyrs, thanks Indian Armed Forces for keeping country safe

New Delhi: Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday offered his salute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives to for India.

Tendulkar, who is also the honorary Group Captain of Indian Air Force, turned up in uniform for the 84th anniversary at Hindon air base in Ghaziabad today.

After the ceremony, the 43-year-old took to Twitter to share his feelings.

For the first time, India's indigenous Light Combat Aircraft performed stunts at the air show, amid loud cheers from the audience.

Speaking at an event, IAF chief Arup Raha said that Indian armed forces are prepared to give a befitting reply to sub-conventional threats and any other challenge facing the country.

His remarks come in the backdrop of frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan and terror attacks in Kashmir, especially in wake of the cross-LoC surgical strike undertaken by the Army on September 29.
