Sachin Tendulkar wishes coach Ramakant Achrekar on his birthday, thanks him for 'everything'

New Delhi: Batting great Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday wished coach Ramakant Achrekar on his 84th birthday, and thank his lifelong mentor for everything.

Tendulkar, Achrekar's most celebrated pupil, shared a Twitter post on Achrekar's birthday.

Tendulkar's respect for his coach is well known, and anecdotes from their fabled relationship have went onto become stories of inspiration for many budding cricketers.

Regarded as the God of Cricket, Tendulkar dominated the sport like no one has done. The owner of hundred hundreds in international cricket, however, whould have not achieved this unrivaled feat without his 'Sir'.

Before becoming a coach, Achrekar himself played for a long time in the local league of Mumbai. But, he could not make it in the first class, despite having impecable technique and temperament – attributes he helped imbibe on the most cricketer of all time.
