Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been rested, while Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Pattinson, Pat Cummins, James Faulkner and Peter Siddle were ruled out by injury.

The South Africans have named an unusually large squad of 16 players and they too will have to juggle their resources, not only to provide opportunities for all their players but to comply with Cricket South Africa`s recently-adopted racial `targets` which call for a season`s average of six players of colour, including at least two black African cricketers, in the national team.

Team news:

South Africa: Though Temba Bavuma hit a century on his debut against Ireland but he will unlikely keep his place in the playing 11. Temba will have to make way for Hashim Amla.

But the sad news for the hosts is the loss of AB de Villiers from the side due to elbow injury. He is out of the ODI as well Test series against Australia too.

Probable playing 11- Quinton de Kock(w), Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis(c), Jean-Paul Duminy, Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, Farhaan Behardien, Wayne Parnell, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir

Australia: Smith & Co should go with the same playing X1 that won against Ireland. There will be concern over Shaun Marsh's finger injury too.

Probable playing 11- David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith(c), George Bailey, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade(w), John Hastings, Adam Zampa, Scott Boland, Daniel Worrall
