Railways invites applications for recruitment of posts in Level 1 of 7 CPC Pay Matrix, over 60000 vacancies

New Delhi: A series of recruitment notifications for various posts in different departments has been released by the Railways.

There are vacancies for the post of track maintainer, gateman, pointsman, helper in electrical, mechanical, engineering, signal and telecommunication departments and porters, among other vacancies.

Out of them, there are over 62000 posts in Level 1 of 7 CPC Pay Matrix for the vacancies in various units of Indian Railways. The candidates must be class 10th pass and those interested can apply by March 12, 2018.

Age criteria are 18 to 31 years and age relaxation will be given as per the government rules. 

As per the official notification, "candidates should ensure that they possess/fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed for the post(s) as on the closing date for submitting application and candidates waiting for results of prescribed educational qualification should not apply."

"Applications are to be submitted online through RRB websites only. Candidates can apply to only one RRB. Any attempt to submit more than one application by a candidate against this CEN shall result in disqualification and debarment," it adds.

The notification further says that "eligibility of the candidates will be considered only on the strength of the information furnished in the online application and candidates need not send printouts of application or certificates or copies to RRBs concerned by post. If at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, it is found that any information furnished by the candidate in his/her application is false/incorrect or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the post(s), his/her candidature will be rejected forthwith."

There will be a computer-based test (CBT) and those candidates who qualify in the CBT shall have to undergo physical efficiency test (PET). Marks will be normalised in the CBT. There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT and 1/3 of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for the wrong answer. 

The scale of pay is - Level 01 of 7th CPC pay matrix with initial pay of Rs 18000 plus other allowances admissible at that time.
