Los Angeles: "Empire" actress Taraji P Henson has alleged her son was racially profiled near the campus at the University of Southern California. Henson said she would not be transferring her 20-year-old son Marcel to the university, which is attended by celebrity kids like Patrick Schwarzenegger, Greer Grammer and Rob Kardashian, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"Police stopped him for having his hands in his pockets," Henson explained. This is not the first time Henson has expressed that the cops had illegally stopped her son.
"My child has been racially profiled. He was in Glendale, California and did exactly everything the cops told him to do, including letting them illegally search his car. It was bogus because they didn't give him the ticket for what he was pulled over for," she said.
Henson, 44, said due to her son's experiences, she has decided to send him to Howard University. She originally chose to pursue electrical engineering at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. "So guess where he's going? Howard University. I'm not paying USD 50K so I can't sleep at night wondering is this the night my son is getting racially profiled on campus," the actress said.
