Beckham was ‘sick and horrified’ by Britain’s summer riots

London: English footballer David Beckham has revealed that he was horrified over the summer riots which sparked out all over England, and watching them on TV made him feel “sick”.

The midfielder was worried about how the outrage would taint Britain’s image as it was shown to the whole world, since they were to host the Olympics a year later.

“We’ve got the Olympics next year and these pictures are being seen all around the world. It makes me feel physically sick,” the Sun quoted the 36-year-old as saying.

He also spoke on how the youth of today cared less about ethics and moral behaviour.

“The problem is, there is a minority of youth today in England who are not scared of authority,” he said

“When I was a kid I respected elders, I respected the law,” Beckham added.
