Bengal promotional video featuring SRK wins Japanese award Kolkata: A promotional film featuring West Bengal brand ambassador and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won an award at a Japanese film and TV festival, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Monday.

The two-minute film won the honour at the coveted 2nd Festival Asia TV and Film on Journey, organised by the Japanese government.

"The first film on Brand Bengal with Shahrukh Khan as the brand ambassador made by the government of West Bengal has won the coveted 2nd Festival Asia TV and Film on Journey organised by the government of Japan," Banerjee posted on social media site Facebook.

"The film captures the present day progressive Bengal with its culture, heritage, scenic beauty, development initiative encompassing all its facets," wrote Banerjee who also would upload the video soon on the media.

The two-minute ad campaign, branded `Bengal Leads` and has Khan saying "there`s something special about Bengal" was released Sep 29.

The promotional film has been directed by national award winning film maker Anirudhha Roy Choudhury.

   this is a fake news being spread by the trinamool government. no such award has been given. contact the japanese govt, you will know. the CM once said she got a doctorate, then it was found that the university doesn't exist. - banerjee - mumbai
