Bieber’s acoustic guitar up for auction for Canadian food bank
Melbourne: One of Justin Bieber’s acoustic guitars went up for auction on Wednesday to benefit a food bank in the Canadian city of Winnipeg.
The Taylor guitar features the teen popstar’s autograph on the lower body of the instrument, which he personally signed while in Winnipeg, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Bidding started this morning and interested buyers have 10 days before the sale is closed.
The 17-year-old singer had gifted the instrument to local resident Kenny Boyce during Bieber’s October visit to his homeland.
Boyce decided to organize the charity auction.
The ‘Baby’ hitmaker launched a massive fundraising effort called ‘The Believe Charity Drive,’ in conjunction with the release of his new album ‘Under The Mistletoe’, with a portion of the album’s profits going to charity.
The Canadian crooner told late night host Jay Leno that during his childhood days in Stratford, Ontario, his mum would go to a local food bank during the holidays when times were tough.
“I was less fortunate. I didn’t get to have a lot, so we used to go there, News.com.au quoted the singer as saying.
“I didn’t even know, my (mum) used to do it,” he added.
