Billy Ray Cyrus calls Miley`s VMA act as "reinventing her sound"

London: Miley Cyrus`s father Billy Ray Cyrus has reacted to her VMA performance saying that it is a way of "reinventing her sound".

During an interview with Piers Morgan, the 52-year old American country music singer said that his 20-year old daughter`s act of twerking, rubbing a giant foam hand on Robin Thicke`s crotch and licking the foam finger in a latex bikini, was a way of "reinventing her sound" and it should be seen as a sign of her "evolving as an artist", the Mirror reported.

The " Some Gave All" singer added that Miley has "harnessed into something very special", claiming that it is hard for people to watch a child star grow up.

Miley and Billy had endured a brief estrangement in 2011 after the 20-year-old radically changed her image from the Disney princess Hannah Montana to a sexed up pop icon.
