London: Singer Boy George has abandoned Twitter after he was bombarded by abusive spam messages. The singer is active on Twitter and regularly keeps in touch with fans through the micro-blogging site. But after his account was hit with a string of unsolicited tweets from abusive users, he has decided to stop tweeting until bosses rectify the issue, reports a website.
"When Twitter decides to help me with this spam situation, I may return. Until then it`s goodbye. You can ask twitter to help but I have," he posted.
The star was left fuming April 12 when an impostor set up a fake account in his name.
