London: Brits may not know their next-door neighbours, but they are very well aware of pop stars and footballers.
According to a survey, nearly half of Britons –49 percent – are more familiar with their favourite celebrity than with those down the lane.
The results showed that on an average, a person knows the names of only seven people in their neighbourhood.
In 1982, this figure stood at 13, reports the Scotsman.
The YouGov research found the majority of people – 66 per cent –interact with their neighbours once a week or less.
